When a leading infrastructure deployment partner was tasked with installing Hitachi Money Spot ATMs across multiple Kerala railway stations, they needed more than a generic sheet metal box.
They needed a specialist sheet metal fabrication partner who could convert precise engineering drawings into structurally sound, site-ready ATM kiosk enclosures — with zero compromise on dimensional accuracy, finish quality, or delivery schedule.
The brief demanded custom sheet metal kiosk fabrication to exact client specifications: walk-in cabin enclosures capable of housing full ATM machinery, with an integrated signage fascia, secure door mechanism, and a surface finish ready for station-environment vinyl branding.

The Solution — From Drawing to Delivery
Kalina by SS Industries took full ownership of the sheet metal fabrication lifecycle — from the first dimension on the engineering drawing to the final kiosk loaded for dispatch. Every phase was executed in-house at the Cherlapally facility, eliminating quality risks associated with subcontracted fabrication.
01. Design & Drawing
Client engineering drawings were reviewed and converted into shop-floor fabrication instructions. Dimensions were locked at 36″ × 30″, with all tolerances finalized before production began.
02. Fabrication
18 gauge MS sheet metal was cut, formed, and welded in-house. The structural frame, wall panels, signage fascia box, door panel, and base plate were all fabricated to exact drawing specifications.
03. Finish & Delivery
Surfaces were prepared and primed for branding application. Units were inspected, loaded, and transported to railway stations across Kerala in site-ready condition, requiring no rework.
The client’s engineering drawing specified an ATM kiosk enclosure of approximately 36″ width × 30″ depth — a compact footprint designed for active station concourse environments. The structure included a full-height internal cavity to house ATM machinery, a robust side-swing access door, and an elevated signage fascia box spanning the full top width.
18 gauge mild steel (MS, 1.27mm) was selected for this custom sheet metal fabrication project because it offered the ideal balance between durability and workability. All cutting, forming, welding, and surface preparation were completed in-house at Kalina’s Cherlapally plant.
